1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. They are used to make a site work, to remember a preference, or to measure how a site is used. Some are strictly necessary; others are not, and those require your consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
2. Our approach
This is a static website with no accounts, no logins, no advertising and no cross-site tracking. The cookie footprint is deliberately minimal. Nothing optional is set until you choose to accept it, and choosing to reject optional cookies does not degrade the site in any way.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| dh-cookie-consent | Essential | Records your cookie choice so the banner is not shown again on every page. Stores only “essential” or “all”. | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics cookies | Optional | Aggregate measurement of page visits and navigation, used to understand which pages are useful. Set only if you accept analytics. | Set by the analytics provider |
3. Essential cookies
Essential cookies are required for the website to function and to respect your preferences. They cannot be switched off through the banner because the site cannot work correctly without them. On this site, the only essential cookie records your cookie choice itself, so that the banner does not reappear on every page. It contains no personal information and no identifier that could be used to recognise you elsewhere.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies, where used, count page views and record general navigation patterns in aggregate. They help us understand which pages are actually read so that content can be improved. They are entirely optional.
No analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set unless you have accepted analytics through the banner. If you reject, or simply do not choose, nothing optional runs. Analytics data is not used to build a profile of you, is not used for advertising, and is not sold or shared for marketing.
5. Form and session cookies
The enquiry and contact forms on this website operate in the browser and do not require cookies to work. If a form-handling service or endpoint is connected in future, any cookie or session token it needs would be strictly necessary for delivering your submission, and this policy would be updated to name it.
6. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No cross-site behavioural profiling.
- No fingerprinting.
- No sale or sharing of cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.
7. The consent banner
On your first visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen offering three options:
- Accept — essential and analytics cookies are allowed.
- Reject — only essential cookies are used. This is as easy to choose as accepting, and is a genuinely equal option.
- Manage — shows what each category does before you decide.
Your choice is stored so that you are not asked again on every page. Ignoring the banner is treated the same as rejecting: no optional cookies are set.
8. Managing cookies
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie preferences link in the website footer, which reopens the banner. Withdrawing consent stops any further optional cookies from being set. Cookies already stored can be cleared through your browser settings.
9. Browser-level controls
All major browsers let you view, block and delete cookies through their settings, usually under privacy or site data. Blocking all cookies may affect how this and other websites behave. Guidance for your specific browser is available in its own help documentation.
10. Changes to this policy
If the cookies used on this website change — for example, if analytics or a form service is introduced — this page will be updated and the table above amended. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
